My first reaction was to ask him if he really meant what he said, but I knew better. They always meant what they said. Not only did he want me to rescue his son, but it had to be within the next 24 hours and with no clues as to the location or identities of the kidnappers. And, of course, it was to be done quietly. Don't get me wrong, I'll get the child out - pay or no pay, but if his old man isn't willing to make a few sacrifices for his kid's return, I'll find that kid some real parents.
