Description

Though he can have a mighty roar Nothing is more fun for a kid than Playing with Dad And seeing him turn into a Big pussy cat. This was my entry in the Father's Day Contest here at R'osity. Didn't win but I enjoyed creating the art, and paying tribute to all fathers who take time to play with their kids, even if sometimes they don't want to. I sure remember the special times my dad played with me. Congrats to all the winners who created some really wonderful entries. Credits: This is a companion image to my other lion/cub art entitled 'Looking Upward', and was created in Photoshop CS, using lion photos and painting techniques. Hope you enjoy. And Happy Father's Day! CC CCopyright Notice: My images do not belong to the public domain and may not be used for any purpose without my permission. lol, it's a beautiful painting & very true, but it's so funny because the father looks like he's just been woken from a nap and is a little cranky. All the dads I knew were like that when woken up or disturbed from their newspapers or sporting events. Great cat-like movement in the cub, and of course the mass of the lion is formidable. And the bluish mane is a fine dream-like touch. The piece is awash in cloudy modulations all throughout the image. And the background tree & sky are faint but present enough to be a backdrop. All very subtly done. Delicate too. More of your sensitive & fine animal painting, Carol, and a great image for fathers day...Yes, some fathers have the surface of a pineapple, but inside their all nectar & sweetness. I like the violet tone throughout too: somewhat royal but very soft.

sorry you didn't win, but your might like to hear I do remember seeing this in the contest when I looked and thought at that time it should of been considered the picture to beat. I didn't do this contest. I read the cut off time wrong. normally the cutoff time is at night (the contests I've been in here) it was in the morning, so I didn't enter, but it did make me think of my Dad a lot and he's never been there for me. Mom and Dad divorced when I was 3. He's still alive at 76 years old, I've called him for Father's day for many years, I didn't do it this year. this contest really made me think about my Dad, and I'm glad it did - it has made me open my eyes and realize my Dad just was never there - your words in this made me realize my Dad never played with me. Great Image for Father's day - this image is what I would of picked - I like it.
