Description

October 25, 2148. The Starshifter makes its inaugural faster-than-light using the all new Quantum RipDrive, taking the human race beyond the solar system. This is a picture of the startup process before the ship makes its subspace jump. Modeled and rendered entirely in Bryce 5, and lens flare in Photoshop 3. Ship and energy effects took 5 hours to model, and the image took nearly 18 hours to render on a PIII 500MHz. I'm not entirely comfortable with this image. It seems as if the Earth could be a little bit better. I think I might have made the bump height settings too high. I just didn't feel like waiting another 18 hours. Feel free to comment.
