Description
Well, I was going to post flowers next but it is so hot I decided to post something cooler. Last summer we celebrated my husband's retirement by taking a cruise to Alaska. My three children took helicopter trips to actually walk on the glacier but, as my husband and I were with my 83 year old mother, we didn't. We'd heard the bugs were bad but this was the only day we had any problems.
My niece did the photoshopping for this picture.

Oooh Gail, this is pretty! I love the blueness of the snow and mountains in the background, the trees in the foreground making it like looking at the scene through a window, and the reflections. Lovely colors and details! Tell Amy she did a great job on the postwork! I know what you mean about hot. I went to a retreat near Kerrville over the weekend. It was hot, dry, hot, buggy, and hot. The lodge was rustic (no TV or Internet) but not too rustic (it had air conditioning!)

A most refreshing choice! This is a magical place... I could only dream of going somewhere like this one day, and visiting! I love the colours; the water so peaceful and still.... excellent view as well!

I'm a goof at times! I looked at the thumbnail for this, without looking at the title of the picture. I clicked on it, still without paying attention to the title of the piece, then I looked at it and thought: Hmmm...looks like one of those really slow rivers that people call glaciers. And then I thought to comment on this (Still without having seen the title of the piece.) It occurred to me to look at the name of the piece, and I finally did so. This is a gorgeous capture. I've always been fascinated by glaciers and other slow natural phenomena, and you've captured this one perfectly. Everything is so crisp and those cool blues are of a sort only found in nature! In short, I really love this shot! It's quite serene, and from what I read, this was captured during what had to be a fantastic trip. This is a great piece of work!

A beautiful capture of this glacier. It was always a dream of my husbands to go and see Alaska but now it will always stay just a dream unless we win Lotto.!!

I'm glad you picked this. It's absolutely gorgeous, I love the framing and the contrast with the lush greens and the glacier itself. Superb shot.
