Description
I have always wondered why no coachbuilder ever did a cabriolet version of the Simca Chambord...

Why? Because at the end of the WWarII, most of french famous coaches or cabriolets builders ( Figoni, Pourtout, Letourneur, Franay, Saoutchik... ) and the luxury french cars builders ( Bugatti, Salmson, Hotchkiss, Delahaye, Talbot, Delage...) were ruined after 5 years without work . The only body-builders who tried to build cabriolets ( Facel, Chapron ..) had to work with big companies : Simca or Citroën. In France, Panhard, Simca, Renault and Peugeot built few cabriolets, expensive to build and expensive for buyers. In the fifties, the most fabulous cars designers were almost all Italians...

Thanks all for the comments! @3DClassics -- indeed. I was thinking more of "pedestrian" special body makers who did interesting similar jobs on the Bogwward Isabella and the Volvo Amazon.
