Description

The Yellow Ladyslipper Orchid is Europe's most impressive wild orchid. Unfortunately it's also quite rare, in Denmark it's only found in two places, in central Jutland. The most well-known of these is a popular place to visit for tourist etc. with botanical interests. To keep visitors from picking the flowers, the place is surrounded by an ugly lath fence, with only a few cage-like "paths" into the area, so you can get a closer look at the plants. This is my vision of how the place could look like, without the fence, or in earlier days before the flowers were found by man. - Not necessarily a "flamboyant" piece here, more an exercise in creating a particular habitat :) Vue 8.4 Complete render, a few touch-ups with Photoshop. What a beautiful piece of art! I have never seen a yellow Lady Slipper, but here in New Hampshire we have pink Lady Slippers. They are not abundant, but near where we go camping there is a large patch of them...and we actually had one growing on the edge of the campsite we were on in May! They are also endangered here.
