Description

The end of the 14 hectares park About the Area... During his second voyage, Jacques Cartier was astonished by the impressive Lachine rapids that visitors can observe from the banks of the Rapids Park. You can walk along an interpretation path that will give you information about the history of the area as well as that of the old hydroelectric power plant. You will also find here a bird sanctuary, where bird lovers can observe more than 225 species of migratory birds as well as the largest heron colony in Quebec. In winter, ducks take over the territory. In summer, visitors can observe rafters and kayakists challenge the rapids. Fishers also like to catch fish in this part of the river. Thanks Magik
