Description

This is still the Paw hole area of the Coyote buttes. It does look as if some of the teepee have melted. That really isn't the case however. During the dinosaurs rule this area was a desert oasis. The landscape consisted of mountain sized sand dunes. Overtime the area became buried and the dunes petrified. Approximately 15 million years ago nature worked it's magic forming what we call today the Coyote buttes. Whether your a viewer, commented, rater, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you.

Dana, I am completely gobsmacked by these formations! It looks like someone with loads of time has painstakingly formed them by hand!! Excellent capture showing off these natural huts!

Wow! This is a favorite among favs! I love how the patterns change from the bottom to the top and the section of wide irregularity right before the topmost point. Excellent color and detail! The one on the far right, looks like a profile with it's tongue out. Wonderful warm colors against the cooler blues and greens in the distance. Beautiful image!
