Description

Many people who grow Hostas cut away the flower stalks as soon as they sprout, because they feel the blossoms distract from the foliage. A closer look reveals the flowers are not really all that drab! And since my hummingbirds love them, I don't remove the stalks until the short blooming period is over. thumb_2075622.jpg

Oh, I didn't realize that hummers liked the blossoms! I have always thought they were pretty and this just confirms it! I love how the...shoot, I can't remember the parts of a blossom...stamens? Well, the part that is curling backwards, LOL. Great shot! We have hostas we planted three years ago in a spot near our koi pond and this year we realized that they REALLY need to be split. They are so pretty.
