How very funny, I grew up in New England on the coast. The harbor I lived on had an isle named Hog island! I now live a little inland of Tomales Bay and know Point Reyes quite well. What a small world! ;)

Me likey, both the atmospheric image and its subject, some kind of stone work projecting off the left side there indicating Human Occupation, looks quite the site for parties/picnics!

Oh yeah, cormorants ... just this Spring I came upon a weird little place, it looked like a scene right out of a Dr. Seuss story .. a pond with all these dead trees in it, and these cormorants (I had no idea what the heck they were at the time) were nesting in these trees - on average there were 3-5 nests per tree. The WEIRDEST site! I got a pic of it. If I remember, I'll have to email it to you. Oh, and I love this pic! I think if I were there, I'd either swim out to that Island or canoe, and see how the fishing is.
