Description

Andrea should like this. Giant Timber Oldham Bamboo (Bambusa oldhamii) from Taiwan, captured back on 8/15/09, at the beautiful Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in beautiful San Marino, California. Better viewed full size. Unfortunately, these awesome plants are often targeted for vandalism by morons who can't constrain the urge to inscribe their inane hieroglyphics on them. Ta-ta, thankx for the peek, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

My friend has so much of this stuff at her place they had to buy goats to crop it down...or get an excavation crew in to dig it up...was over taking all their lawn...very pretty stuff for sure!

This looks like quite sizeable bamboo! My neighbour has got the smaller variety! Lovely collage Harry!

Excellent shots of this so-interesting plant; I know they've invasive, but you have to admire all that energy to spread!

I love bamboo! It's such a fascinating plant. The fact that it is a grass and that they make scaffolding out of it in the Far East amazes me. Great images! Wonderful color, detail and POV. I like the first and third ones best.

You just have to love bamboo or you don't and it's one of my favourite plants, whether fresh or dried, it's wonderful pliable for interior decorating and a million of other uses....(shame about the vandalism), very stylish and classy presentation, BB
