Description

Backyard Blue Jay I have notice a behavioral difference between the Blue Jays down here in Florida to the ones up North in New York. The ones down here seem timed and shy compared to the ones I was used to up in New York that are somewhat fearless and brazen. Makes it really hard to get a good clear shot at them, this is at a distance. Hope you all enjoy and please zoom. Thanks for the comments.

It is amazing how different bluejays are in different areas. We have the shrub jay here, very brazen, and chases all other birds away. The mountains have the stellar jays, which seem even noisier. This is a beautiful bird, and wish we had the more shy variety here.

Beautiful jay! I have also noticed that their call and vocalizations vary from area to area! I wonder if yours has a southern accent! ;)

I guess its like fish, in some areas along the coast, they are wild. Others areas, they are calm and not afraid. Nice shot.... Aloha

Nice shot! I just LOVE the blue of the jays. I wonder how you tell the northern jays from the southern? Must be that southern drawl they have, LOL. Ours around here swing to extremes...some are very timid and others a quite brazen.

He's a beauty, and he looks so striking against the red dirt. Excellent shot. You know I can't remember seeing any bluejays in S. FL.
