Description

Seems like my home erosion pictures, such as picket fences, have had a modicum of success, so here are a few more. Better viewed full size. The top two shots were taken 6/25/10, about three-quarters of a mile from my place...and they definitely are gates, or were once used as gates, because I found rusty hinges on the back; photo #3, snapped this morning, is my neighbor's patio gate; photo #4, taken 5/14/09, is the top of my weatherbeaten and termite-chewed patio gate. But now, after years of financial and material hemming and hawing by the homeowner's association, our condiminium fences and gates are finally being replaced the middle of this July with hi-tech composite fences and gates. Tallyho, thankx for dropping in, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

Yes, I also like the worn and beaten look, don't know why exactly. I guess it's got character? Anyway, great shots of what passes for "olde" in the wilds of southern California! We don't have much "olde" up here either, the moss and moisture rots things wooden things pretty quickly!

I have to say that some of them seems to be beyond rescue! maybe the 3rd one can be saved for a while longer with some light sanding and new paint!!

Now you have me thinking about, "Where can I go to find "old?" Like your weather and insect worn shots today:-) If I find some old...I'll respond in kind.

At least your homeowners association is going to take care of yours soon. Good luck to the others. You do have the knack of turning anything into a great looking collage. Dana
