Description

I purchased the "Steampunk Aviator for V4" by Sarsa and Bobbie25 at DAZ the other day and had to try it out. Had previously gotten the old French bomber from the Google Warehouse collection and thought it would make a perfect background aircraft for the Aviator. It was modeled by JIHS. The bomber is the Amiot 143 and was getting obsolete by the time it began production in 1936. Nevertheless, it saw service in WWII until 1944. (I'm assuming it was used by the Vichy French government.) Also used Eugenia's "Airport v3" from Cornucopia3d. Was going to have a bunch of aircraft flying overhead, but Vue7 decided otherwise. Sigh. Probably should have tinkered with this a bit more. It seems to lack something but not sure what. To be honest, since the loss of our son, I really haven't been able to concentrate very well on renders (or a whole lot of other stuff as well) but things are slowly getting better. Thought maybe I ought to post something to get myself back in the habit, rather than to focus so much on quality of render. Thanks for all your words of comfort and encouragement. They meant a lot to both me and my wife, Karen. Jeremy

Looks good Jeremy, the foreground texture resolution could be higher(it seems out of place in respect to the rest of the textures),but other than that I like what you've done here! Sorry to hear about your loss!

Good to see you posting, concentration and inspiration will come....this is cool, not as colourful as some of your post, but perhaps a subconcious reflection of your sombre mood. Any render reflects a point in time, this has it's place and it works for me.Wishing you and Karen brighter days, you have many friends here at Rendo rooting for you.Take care and chin up.

I think this render offers alot more than its missing. What I mean by this is, the Aviator's out on the tarmak, her plane's engines are idly purring away on all cylinders. Its a lovely scene, and nothing seems out of place or feels lacking. Perhaps she herself is getting over a heartfelt personal loss. The important thing is, she's looking out in the distance; awaiting a new adventure out on the horizon. She's basically looking ahead, climbing back into the saddle, rather than looking back and dwelling on the past which can't be changed. And this image I think is a good and healthy step in the right direction; possibly the core of it done subconsciously (Could've been just a plane and an airstrip, but its the aviator and her stance added that makes all the difference). An activity to distract the mind and present thoughts with, even just for a little while. An activity that is familiar, comfortable, and enjoyable to partake in from time to time. Keep on rendering, and take care.

Hey Jer well done, I love it, it has that art deco feel, mostly cuz of the plane & the pose of the aviatrix very 20's & 30's look, you couldve seen this as a Gauloise Ad back then, I know not PC, but when in rome...

Good to see you posting in what must be a difficult time for you all. I'm only too aware how fussy Vue can be when it comes to importing objects. My 332FG image was originally more complex but Vue wasn't having any of that. Looks great to me Jeremy.

First rate historical imagery!!! It is always great to see some of the forgotten aircraft of the past. The warring nations used anything in the inventory in WWII, and so it does not suprise me that this aircraft was used in WWII. Super work!!!

looks cool to me, Jeremy, and it is so good to see you posting again.. I know there is nothing able to fill the gaping hole of your loss, but I do know that come time, creating something is a good therapy to get the soul mending again. I know this from experience, as my fathers death left me in pain too and it wasn't till almost three quarters of a year later when I could create freely again, knowing he would have appreciated what I do, knowing he would have wanted me to live on and be well, as I bet your son will have wanted you too
