I first discovered photography at the age of 8or 9 when i was given an old box brownie and after a couple of years I progressed to a Kodak folding camera I remember it took a size 127 film.
My father built me a dark room in the loft and I spent many hours learning about processing and printing my films, both black and white and colour. when marrige and family came along time for the processing side of photography had to take a back seat.  After 50 years working we retired to Chard in Somerset southwest England (we think it could be the best part of the world). About 3 years ago we got into digital photography , recently my son Ian who has a site on renderosity (iambrose) talked me into joining, I am so glad he did as it's so nice to read the comments and see how other people view your pictures.ÂÂ

Well done and many happy returns... I just love those old fashioned signs - nice collectors items - which you won't find in our modern cities anymore - great pity, so, thanks for sharing these novelties, BB

Wonderful collection of pub signs! A great way to celebrate your first year! I had quite a gander at them. I like the image of a castle (which looks domineering and cold) with the subtitle, 'a very warm welcome'. The Wrecker's Retreat is a rather gloomy sign, the Volunteer Inn with a man in uniform, made me smile. I've read of the type of volunteering that sometimes went on in inns when sailors were needed. What's a Loder, or is that a place name? Excellent collage! I love pubs (they are much nicer as a general rule, than bars). I wish I could have taken you up on that! I'm looking forward to your next year of images!
