Description

Inspired by the Ice Hotel in Sweden and in Quebec I modeled a modified 'Absolut Ice Bar'. Hope you like it. Thanks for viewing :-)

Hey, this is fabulous! Now THIS is realistic looking ice. I wish this had been done in C4D so you could tell me how you did it and I could use it! I tried learning Lightwave before I took up C4D and found it incredibly difficult to use. Nice Job!

Ehem, that hotel is in Finland, not in sweden. At leas the first hotel where in Finland. Fantastic piece, one of the best ice material and lights I have seen ever.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. Antoonio, it might well be that the first ice hotels were built in Finland. The pictures I worked from I downloaded from www.icehotel.com which promotes the Swedisch Ice Hotel in Jukkasjvi. :-) dick_longly, I have used a refraction index of 2,41 which is equivalent to the refracton index of diamonds. By the way, this image took 11 hours to render :-/

its even dangerous to drink from the glasses! your tounge will get stuck! >(...well, i think its safe to sitt on the bar "seats" they have some blankets so hopefuly your ass wont get stuck...unless you pee...but thats a bad idee....just so you know! (everybody loves raymond joke) Why dont you try using ice IOR? looks bad? You should have Shiva from the Final Fantasy games as a waitress! she is a "cool" girl! :) And if the ice starts to melt she can just cool it down again :D
