Description
"Which one? Which one?" says me, rummaging around in my photos for a good one to throw on the mercy of this court for My First Upload. Having seen so many wonderful images here, I knew I'd better come correct to avoid the boo birds, brickbats and the Tar & Feathers Committee. So I figured this one wouldn't be too shabby for a debut. I've been blessed for many years to live under skyscapes like this in all 4 seasons [and with the vision to see them], and to have a couple of nonworker mutts needing to be walked so that I'm able to capture such splendors. This was 2 mornings before Christmas '08, 1 of a 5-shot series in the space of 59 seconds. Got out there just in time because the clouds pause for no camera! In fact I better get me hence now to see what Mama la Nature has got cooked for my eyes' breakfast this morning!

A very, very warm welcome to rendo! I know what you mean about being worried about uploading that first picture...will they like it? What if no one comments on it, etc. But here at Rendo we are like a big family and support each other! I'm rather new myself posting photos. Skyscapes are so fun to photograph, because they can change to much just within a matter of moments...as you said, the gift that keeps on giving. Congratulations on your first upload. Looking forward to seeing more!!

"I've gone bright red!" at such warm welcomes & Pretty Compliments about my humble artifact, thank you all so much! It's nice to know that having stumbled onto this place quite by accident while searching for pictures of the "classic" battlestar Galactica, I've found a niche wherein I can display some of my collected jewels. As Mr. Erestor says, the skyscapes can change so fast, they're quite the elusive prey to capture. None of the other 4 shots after this one are its equal, but I do have Just A Few More lying around from different times which are atmospheric in their way. Strangely though this past fall and winter there wasn't quite the vibrant daily show as I'm used to, either the pastel sunrise or the fiery sunset, but I've plenty already documented and look forward to seeing what this fall and winter will bring. In the meantime I'll hunt around for some other representatives - wasn't until recently I started putting a 4-letter reference "tag" on the date-time filenames for easy access - and look forward to seeing works by yourselves as well!

...and a big welcome to you & the world of make believe - and it's all for real, just for the taking...and that is what we do, trying to immortalize beautiful Mother Nature. I remember my first post - and how scary it was - but the tension was also exciting, would they like it ? 'thumbs up or down'...the jury is still out on that! BTW congratulations on your first and thank heavens, that you have to walk the dogs! to present us with this incredible display... Thumbs up ! BB

"I am honored" by everyone's comments, and a special tip of the flask to la blurr de blonde, who must also be a poet! It's certainly a lot different getting responses from people who know what they're about around a camera versus the kind remarks of family & friends - although one lady simply floored me when she said some of my pictures looked good enough to be in the National Geographic! Considering my entire knowledge of photography is no more than Point & Shoot, that to me is like saying my performance in an 8th-grade English-class production of West Side Story was deserving of a Tony award! Well, as I have a certain ear for music it appears I have a bit of an eye for capturing a tasteful scene or two. Am still sifting through the collection to see what to try next serving up to this Discerning Crowd, both without & with the animules in question. The very best to all of you in your artistic [and otherwise] endeavors!
