Description

I completed most of the renders on this a few months ago, but haven't had the time to flesh it out until this weekend. It's all setup in Vue 8.5 Infinite using Stonemason's Greeble Blocks for the base and Dystopia City Blocks for the capital buildings. The 6000 x 2083 renders and postwork came together in Photoshop CS5. I was going for that looking into an intense sunrise kind of effect, so hopefully after staring into it for too long you'll want to squint your eyes a bit ;) Thanks for looking!

I thought it was a looking into an early-morning nuclear blast effect. Either way, great!

Nice... visually stunning. I'm not sure that juxtaposing the star wars ships with the contemporary commercial logos really works for me though.

Looks like another hot smoggy day on it's way in Acheron! Excellent atmosphere and a mind-boggling amount of detail!

Very nicely done! The star wars chase through the middle is subtle enough to be hilarious.

Excellent as usual, but I gotta say the Star Wars ships seem out of place to me, and the lines of sky traffic seem a tad excessive, but that's just my opinion. Nicely put together as always though, with your usual attention to all the small details.

Tanhauser Plaza!! The last dawn before the war? Wow what you do with those Greebles and Dystopian blocks is amazing! "I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe; attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion; I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those... moments... will be lost... in time, like... tears... in rain."

Like Crown Prince, one of the many details that caught my attention as I averted my eyes from the sun, was Tanhauser Plaza. Quite amused to learn that for years I believed Tanhauser Gate to be an architectural item, it is... (after a long google search) It is apparently a fictional reference. Hmm. It seems that whatever article on the internet in 2004 that propogated the notion that a Tanhauser Gate was a kind of black hole, visible only by particles attaining light-speed (c) as they approached the rim has been erased. OK. Great pic as always. Always love the details you cram into a pic and appreciate the time it takes to do so. While this has been a lesson you can't always believe what you read on the internet (for me) You'll just have to trust me that I mean what I say. Look forward to the next one! ; )

Er - I'm going to be a bit of a damp sqid here I'm afraid. I saw the thumb and had to look, but when I got here I was a bit dissapointed. The thumb, or what it contains is the picture (for me), and you saw that yourself maybe, by selecting the area of the image to produce the thumb. Give us a full size version of just the thumb and I think you will have agreat image in that. Having said that, your picture is still good and worth looking at.
