Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Oh yes - this is just stunning. I really like the overall result you have achieved Bill! I agree that it resembles something alien... especially with the blue tinted lights above!

I saw one of these planes in real life when they were still in operation at Beale Air Force Base, CA. Don't ask me how I got in to see it... please. ;c) Excellent postwork.

What a plane! You know, this begs for a Star Wars reference, since George Lucas and his special effects wizards probably stole...um, I mean, appropriated this very plane for inspiration of "the Royal Starship" used by Queen Amidala in the rather lacluster prequel Star Wars: the Phantom Menace...okay, I admit to liking that movie, but maybe it was really just the popcorn and the Skunk Works inspired "starship" that...well...at times looked more like a hood ornament than a space ship--bad camera angles and too much chrome! Oh well. What a shot though! I love your postwork and the way everything brings your focus to the centerpiece plane. This really rocks! Mach-3 huh...? I know a cat who can run that fast, especially if she's chasing a Q-tip; she hasn't quite gotten the whole stopping bit, so her Q-tip chases often end with a bit of feline embarrassment. Ah, but that's a ramble for another day. What a shot. I love what you've done with this.
