Description
This was the eastern sky which my waking eyes beheld 13 months & 3 days ago, a true heavenly vision at 10 minutes to 7 that morning. I had to stand in the dewy grass with only shorts & socks on, and was fortunate to capture this in just the 1 shot since almost immediately the clouds moved & the symmetry and shading and the "light pillar" effect were lost. Mme. Nature is still on something of a timeout these days, weirdly not much of her usual morning/evening splendors on display - although there are still those awesome "migration" formations of huge puffy clouds during the day - but I've got many other samples of her previous works to tide me over 'til she comes out of this "retirement" phase!

Thanks all, much appreciated! Knowing the hard way how them skies can change in a few seconds or less, I tried to have my camera within arm's reach at nearly all times. I remember this time I didn't - I go stumbling into the kitchen for my 1st cup o' joe, gasp with shock at the sight filling the window, race back to my room for the camera and sprint outside like a clock puncher about to miss his usual bus. Those clouds were in a hurry to get somewhere since the Sun went from being on the northern edge [to the left] to this position in less time than it takes to tell it. No "Freeze!" or "Hold it!" for them! As for the "thrill," Mrs. B, that comes from a well-known Billie Holiday song - I named the image AHeavenlyDream, so quoted the line before it for the subject line: "I've heard it said/ That the thrill of romance/Can be like a heavenly dream." For My Next Trick I'm hoping to find the elusive image that was going to be this offering - one that takes place only when water's added to the celestial mix!

Uplifting. I am slightly distracted by the unlevel horizon. Perhaps it would further strengthen the astounding affect of the light if it was straighted a bit? Beautiful work.
