Description

As I walked down the path to the Hammond Castle, this unfinished patio, is one of the first things that you see. The four arches representing the four seasons and the Atlantic Ocean pounding below. Details on the Hammond Castle, that John Hays Hammond Jr. built, can be read on my July 6, 2010 posting. The large granite rock, in the background, is Norman’s Woe, made famous by American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, in his narrative poem "The Wreck of the Hesperus". Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

A nice capture of the Middle Eastern type arches looking out over the Atlantic, Dana. And, I see you got a bench in there for MrsRatbag. I wonder if she noticed it.

Ooooh...this is one of those really spectacular shots that really gets my creative juices flowing. There's a sense of the romantic here, the Gothic (at least in terms of literature) and just the downright beautiful. That and I love a rock with the word "Woe" in its name! Brilliant. This is so perfectly seen and presented! Yeah, this is an amazing shot.
