Description

When the F6F Hellcat first appeared in the Pacific, it was mistaken by some Japanese pilots as the F4F Wildcat. Consequently, they tried using a favored technique, which was to go into a climb. Inexperienced US pilots would try to follow, and stall out, leaving the Zero pilot to turn and get an easy kill. This is my representation of such a meeting, with the F6F pilot trying to figure out what his opponent is doing, knowing that he can easily match the manuever. It will be the last mistake the Rei-sen pilot will make in combat.
