This is the view that opens up before you through the gate. (Upload yesterday) Part of the ruins of Bolton Abbey can just be seen on the left.

This was taken on a Sunday and there was a service going on in a renovated part of the Abbey which might explain why the people were smartly dressed. Would you believe - the cream square blob at the bottom of the field is an ice cream vendor, totally out of place. Tomorrow I will upload a shot from over the river showing stepping stones and the ruins of the Abbey. Thanks to all for your kind comments.

Nice POV. You captured it all so well there. Great depth. Nice array of subjects. Surprising the sheep are grazing close to the path-road. They are sheperding the Sunday morning amblers.
