Description

Inside Hammond Castle, Gloucester, Massachusetts. One of the reasons that John Hays Hammond, Jr. built his home, as a castle, was to house his collection of Medieval armor and artifacts. The golden hue is the combination of their type of lighting and me not use a flash. It is so dark in there that any type of flash gave the metal a harsh and washed out look. I think that it is time that I broke down and bought a tripod or at least a unipod. This is a Medieval Knight Helmet. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

I love these things...at least in a modern context. I'm always amazed at suits of armor. They're always so impressive...until you look at how short those guys were! I really like this photo, though; the color is the sort of color I'd intentionally go for, so yeah, tripods, unipods, or a friend holding his breath while you use his back as a stabilizer is always a plus. This is fantastic! I love the little details when zoomed to full view.

Terrific clarity in this capture, considering the dim light, in this quasi sepia tone foto, Dana! And, yes, a tripod comes in most handy in these situations.
