Description

I've been making a lot of ruined buildings for work & wanted to throw some of them into a render..scene setup took an evening followed by another evening of postwork...all the assets were made in the past few weeks..also used Rayfire for most of the larger scale destruction & rubble piles. thanks for viewing & any comments Cheers Stefan

As usual some great modelling work & a strong control over light. However as I'm always critical (constructively of course;-))I was trying to workoutwhat preluded to the scene. At first I thought it was a crash landing but there path of destruction left behind indicates a weird path hitting toppling buildings, then through a left building without taking off the cortner then bounced across the street to the right buildng & then finally down to its resting place. BUT then I started to see more destruction in other areas like the one behind the hotel & then the blown out window on the near right building which the craft never made it to. Therefore I can only deduce that a battle of sorts has taken place explaining all of the other destruction & this ship is left just how it was taken down. The fore rubble which looks great with the DOF I guess could have been thrown up from the crafts slide & collide or is further evidence of a battle that has taken place in unseen near objects. due to my assumption of events i think it would have been cool to have aded in a couple of roaming figures on patrol cautiously moving towards the craft. In addition there is a lot of dust in the atmosphere elluding to recent events, yet there is no fires or smoke...nor signs of life....perhaps the city was abandoned prior to the event. The level of details & texturing are second to none & are something I always admire in your creations. i dont think there was a need for the light glint on the edge of the craft as by comparison the rest of the craft looks dirty, possibly even rough steel, whilst the glint elludes to a polished or highly reflective surface. I hope my crits arent too harsh, i honestly appreciate the work you create & for sharing with us..so, Thank You :-)

Excellent as usual. I like the randomness of the single fallen power line that goes across the image. It adds to the realism as does the quality of the fallen rubble. Really like the space ship too. - Bob

Very spiffy, beautifully done. All the random junk on the street must have been a lot of work, on top of everything else. Clutter is actually hard in CG :)

So nice that work and play can so wonderfully mesh, as in your life. Nice to be able to take from the office to the home and render something as impressive as this. Fine offering!
