I first discovered photography at the age of 8or 9 when i was given an old box brownie and after a couple of years I progressed to a Kodak folding camera I remember it took a size 127 film.
My father built me a dark room in the loft and I spent many hours learning about processing and printing my films, both black and white and colour. when marrige and family came along time for the processing side of photography had to take a back seat.  After 50 years working we retired to Chard in Somerset southwest England (we think it could be the best part of the world). About 3 years ago we got into digital photography , recently my son Ian who has a site on renderosity (iambrose) talked me into joining, I am so glad he did as it's so nice to read the comments and see how other people view your pictures.ÂÂ

Cool image!!

I'm sorry...it doesn't look like fun being here on holiday. I sort of look for temperate conditions with a bit of hypnotic beach or shoreline. This just looks cold. :-) Wonderful capture.

Great capture of the wave crashing against the railing!

Well done! I love the splash of color amongst the gloom and poor weather. Great shot. Hope you didn't get too wet taking it.

We went to the Isle of Sky once in May. It rained the entire weekend. The owner to the Bed and Breakfast said, "You missed summer. It was last weekend." But during Texas summers like in 2009 with endless days of 100F/37.8C, I don't mind missing a little summer. Excellent shot! I like the contrast between the dark skies, and bright waves and beach huts. Wonderful capture of the wave!
