Description

Since it's 92°F (heat index 102°F) I decided to remind myself that this too shall pass away, though not until late October or thereabouts. The big snow happened in December, 2008, I think. A typical South Louisiana snow is maybe an inch, gone the next day, if it lasts that long. We get these every 5 or so years in January or early February. This one was 4 or so inches, with snow in shady areas lasting 3 or 4 days , and was in December. It's not very impressive by snow belt standards but for us it was practically a blizzard.

HAHA nice way to cool off in the summer ... but I don't want to drag out all the winter coats just yet. :)

Cool shot! Literally. Ten degrees difference between actual and heat index. You must be dripping in humidity. Yes, I've already begun to dream of October. We were forecast to be 97/104 but it's only 93/95. Not so bad. Having lower humidity definitely helps. Tomorrow is forecast for 98/103. I hope they are off a bit again. Beautiful capture of a singular event!

Uffff! Or Brrrrrrrr ? (LOL) Wonderful to see some snow in this moment! As a German I cannot understand your temperature index, but in Berlin it is hot, hot, hot! Temparature reached nearly 40° Celsius in the last days here, and in the local news I have heard today, that Berlin was one of the 4 hottest cities worldwide, hotter than Dubai or Rio de Janeiro. When will this end? I should take your pic as my personal wallpaper.....

to Lucy, actually the humidity is a low 56% according to the weather channel. It's supposed to be around 75% tomorrow. to billcody, you've got us beat today. 92°F is only about 33.5°C. My biggest complaint, other than the fact that I hate hot weather, is that July is only the third hottest month. August and September will be hotter.

A great capture to remind you of winter. I'm hoping we get through winter without having any snow. So far so good.

I'm getting wilted at the moment too so it's nice to see a cold scene to try and cool off.

Beautiful shot! It is certainly a refreshing site to see. I too have begun to think of making winter scenes in the hope of cooling off.

Con la temperatura attuale , esagerata , molto fuori della norma , vedere la neve diventa un vero spasso , una boccata d'aria rinfrescante! With the current temperature, exaggerated, far outside the norm, see the snow becomes a real fun, a breath of fresh air!Very beautiful shot , Gail !

Yeah and when we see this, we might not complain so much over the heat... or? Beautiful shot indeed.
