I have been into photography for over 40 years, and the pull doesnt lessen. As a family we have always been keen walkers, and that gets you to some interesting places.Ive recently been to Southern India as a member of an adult support team with our local community school to Chennai so the camera never cooled down i can tell you, (watch this space). I live in Chard South Somerset, and have fairly recently converted to digital, at first reluctantly, but now enthusiastically. Its great to hear others comments on your pictures and i am looking forward to loading up my space. Alan. Almost through my first week and inspiration levels have rocketed, thanks for all those comments they drive me on.

Beautiful! I've only been into Mere once when I was working for a potter in Marnhull. We drove to the Brush factory to fill a truck with woodshavings for a reduction firing in the kiln. Gosh, that took me back!

I rarely watch tv and when I do it is the Discovery channel. Lately (at flaming last), they are showing a channel called Blighty, all about our wonderful and astoundingly beautiful British Isles. This fabulous image epitomises what this fair isle is all about! More countryside than towns, more grass than concrete, more natural rivers and streams than reservoirs - and far more lovely country folk than one can shake a stick at! This country, as the young are prone to say Rocks!!! Fabulous image! ^=^

Impressive perspective over this part of England I must have passed a few years back, only a bit more southwards along the coast. A superb landscape and capture!

Those shadows on the landscape really bring depth and create additional points of interest for the eyes to find.

Above the world is stretched the sky,— No higher than the soul is high. (From Renascence by Edna St. Vincent Millay) Those words came to mind as I looked at this image. Beautiful capture of land and sky, and of the feeling that soars through one at such a scene. Wonderful light and shadow! I love the long shadows, the grass brightly lit against the them. The textures, undulations and tracks are excellently caught in this light. Stunning view, beautifully captured!

i would have sworn that shadows couldn't be that black outdoors. their sharpness and strength makes this look almost like a modern painting or design. very cool work with interesting shapes.
