Description

Ok, I decided to work on my lighting, so I found and read a couple of web pages talking about three point lighting. Armed with my new understanding of "how it's suppose to be done" I open a character I've been working on useing freebies and Aiko4(still not sure I like her, fells like she is Aiko in name only and not in spirit) got what I felt was the best lighting I could get with the three point method, a few tweaks and test renders later I had the first image. I was just going to upload it but then I decided to see how it would compare to my normal lighting methods, so I replaced the fill and rim lights with my fake AO light I made with fourteen distantlights, hens the second image... ...I think the second one looks better. Thanks to all who comment on my work. Enjoy.

The top seems more realistic, but the bottom one is more dynamic & seems to have more tonal range and contrast. I guess it would depend on what you like :)
