Description

thank you Atomic Anvil, one of your images made me want to try this. The fore-ground is all Carrara, the background is an old TG2 image that I touched up a little (butchered) with Ron's waves (certainly not Ron's fault!).

A lovely looking image and a fine piece of inspiration from Atomic anvils original I like the sense of scale and surrealism great work! I would be interested in finding out how you covered the bolder with vegetation. Cheers Nick!

Thanks everyone for your kind and wonderful comments - they make me feel good about this image. Njb2000, about the vegetation. The answer to that is surface replication. Google "Carrara Forum" First link is DAZ3d link See Sticky Carrara 6 & 7 Tutorial Reference List Number 26 inside is a surface replication tutorial by Howie Farkes. I learned enough about surface replication to get started from the Mark Bremmer VTC training CD -which as a new-comer to Carrara I felt I needed - and which I can easily recommend. I also understand that PhilW has a training package that is excellent, but can't comment on since I happened to see Mark's package first. If I can scrape up the bucks, I think I'll get the PhilW also since it is that good (and I am just dense enough to benefit from a training double-whammy.

It is always nice to see the use of programs like terragen and carrara used magical inside a work, that is pretty like this one.
