Description

Here's another Mandelbox image, created in UF5 (primarily using Dave Makin's 3D formulae) with some minor pp in Photoshop. I'm beginning to get to grips with working in 3D now, though positioning the camera and lights in UF (which wasn't designed to handle 3D) continues to be a source of frustration. Still, I prefer to work in UF for 3D fractals because of the possibilities it gives for layering and colouring. Thanks for the comments on 'Lamina' and my other recent posts. Comments, criticism and suggestions are welcome on this image too.

At first I thought it looked like a city and then I looked closer and saw some, how do I say this, rubble? Like buildings have partially fallen down. An abandoned city then. Any minute now I'm expecting Wall-e to come and clean it up ;-) Don't mind my rambling, it's an impressive image and the longer you look at it the more you see.

Great perspective and the lighting and color are superb. Camera position in Mb3d and Mbber are a trick too, in fact the camera never moves, you Manipulate the Box around the camera, real pain in the ass, color gradients are very limited too but my tastes run in the Monochromes for Fractals anyway but it would be nice to have more control. Peace
