UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Fantastic capture, Bill! This is great without the blur, besides there is just a little hint of blur on the red plane's prop!

I think our seats at the end of the runway were the best on the field. Maybe not for some of the stuff, but we got to see the turns nobody else saw. This was a great act!

Not and easy capture to get, Bill. You did it so well. Hugs. Diane. xx

Excellent captured. I find it very difficult to capture moving objects in the sky. Well done.

You have done well Bill.. Prop blur? I would love to know how the experts get the amount they do.. I was using a massive 300mm tele lens on my camera.. Set on Auto but with ISO fixed at 200.. to lowest I could.. And I could only get what I show so far.. So, unless the professionals set a single picture everytime on manual, for one flypast and hope!!! I have no idea how they do it..... Some of my pics have blur, others have very little... (like yours).. I think it is to do with the aircraft engine speed.. ? Good work mate.. Rob

Nice! This is VERY NICE! There's nothing more dramatic than a pair of flying Yaks. It's even more impressive since one of them survived a rather flagrant lomcovak as well! (just pretend I put those hacheks and stuff over the right letters.) I love the drama in this shot and the head-on POV. It's even better since I'm listening to the Battlestar Galactica cover of "All Along the Watchtower" as I look at this: I'm at the snarly guitar bit near the end where the band just blows out all of the stops...it's quite stirring in conjunction with this photograph, which also means that this photo is amazing in that it totally fits with a completely unrelated artform. This rocks! Yeah! Two riders were approaching...the wind began to howl! oh yeah, I like this!
