Description

I tried to portray a mermaid without using a tail, do you think I succeeded? My neck is very painful again, so I'm going to relax for a while. It works. I was going to say that I have a general aversion to mermaid pictures and when I saw the ebot I wasn't even gonna open it but I saw the thumb in your gallery and it lured me in. I like how you have been exploring using facial portraits only to convey characters or moods. It is an interesting challenge and your work has inspired me to give it a go too, as I so rarely do such genre. Here you have used both color and texture, with a minimal amount of props to well portray an aqeous scene.

It looks so magical, Sylvia. Your portraits are wonderful. Even without the title, the hues and elements clearly say this is a mermaid portrait. You have the power to portray what you have in mind. And it's effortless and flawless at the same time.
