Description

Another shot of this beautiful Robber Fly. This is the first shot I got of it soon as it landed. No close-up filters, just the 50mm. Wanted to just snap off one as fast as I could incase it flew off. Should have a couple more shots from this trip in the next couple days. It was a productive day for insects. Thanks for looking. -Bruce

I've never actually seen one of these live and in person or as a stunning macro, so this is a superbly interesting shot for me. Who knew that there were such hairy flies? Well, nothing in nature surprises me any more; if I learned that this was actually an insect smart enough to be a particle physicist, that wouldn't surprise me either! I love the fuzz and the absolute clarity you always capture. This is a marvel.

Love how you say you just "snapped one off", lol. This is awesome!!! I'm still dreaming of one day to be able to get that good. Maybe Santa will bring me a new camera this year to help me with that, hehe. Meanwhile I keep trying and admire your work which I really enjoy looking at.
