Description
Title: Make No Mistake FBP
this is a Fantasy picture I made of a Mermaid who was located in the Gulf... The Oil almost choked her to death as she swam for the oil covered beaches.
I used poser6, V3, I painted in the tail and the oil on the body. In postworkshop I used in the dark, photo glow and sharpen.
This Image was for the Fantasy vs Sci Fi Contest that just Announced the Winners today - I didn't place, but this and the next four images I was inspired to do - I live in Colorado, far away from any Oceans, but this Oil drilling problem really upset me - how much lives were lost on this planet because of it?
A four part series starring the girl is to follow.

can i clean her up mike, huh?? plz.. that freakin' oil spill is the worst, it will be with us for 50 yrs or more. everything in the area will be dead for that long, the coral, marines life so on. beautiful done image mike. thanks for sharing and posting bro. steve. in america the beautiful song, instead from seas to shining seas. it will be seas to oily seas.. lol steve

Really fantastic and pointed work, Mike. Nothing more heart wrenching to us beach lovers than to see gobs of black goo washing up along the shoreline, killing off birds, fish and causing Gods only know how much damage to an already fragile eco system. ...and to think, they want to turn our beautiful California coastline into a string of oil dericks...no thank you. But thank YOU for making such an eloquent point!

Mike, you really did a great job on thos one Bro. Your point is well made, and it doesn't matter how far away you are from it we are all upset by it. There is no way of knowing for years to come just how many lives will be forever changed because of it. Great job in making your point

Excellent work on this image Mike! I cannot tell you how sad this disaster makes me! For much of my life I have enjoyed the beauty of this area so despoiled now....and human lives ruined by it too! It is so sad!

Mike the Nature doesn't know what borders and customers are. So we all have to understand that we only have ONE earth. Unfortunately, most of people are concerned by such desasters only when they are just near them : what about old "chronic" oil desaster in Nigeria in your US newspapers, for exemple? ( and it's just an exemple...) Good idea for this picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not only in the gulf brother the oil-mutha-fuckas will really doom this planet as long as their pockets are filled the assholes.(sorry for the rant). its a pleasure for me to comment on one of your works,as you upload seldom and comment and support a lot and not only on my gallerie,i see your avatar often on the pages i visit and i want to thank you for the time you spend encouraging and supporting the artists here. i feel sorry for the mermaid here,there is a lot of deepness in the theme in general ,as this Bp business goes on . and as long as greed and power commands the planet i am afraid it goes on until the bitter end.and it will probably be bitter.

Great image, and the filters look perfect. Gives it that grainy, dirty look it should have. As far as the subject matter, I'm with you. Corprate/political greed and games have caused so much grief to those of us just trying to walk through this life. Looking forward to the next images my friend.

A very imaginative render my friend. looks like I will be around a little longer. To cut my wife off the internet caused a family quarrel. Also our neighbors are also using it with there wifi set up, so they are helping out. Still have not loaded all my stuff and have to mov pictures from one puter to another. As I have yet to put the adobe photo stuff on this computer again.
