Description
The "Corpse Flower" in the process of blooming at the Houston Museum of Natural Science on July 23, 2010. Estimated time, 7:40 pm.
I have never seen the museum more crowded, nor Houstonians more excited about a "mere flower." But I must admit, this thing was impressive. It rose more than six feet in height, and yes... it gave off the stench of rotting flesh.
All in all, I was very impressed with the flower. I kept expecting it to turn to me and say, "FEED ME!" :-)
