My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

Up ~~~ and Up!!!!

This is a deeply disturbing pic, Tara! It is lovely to look at, and invites a climb, BUT I keep worrying about what it would be like to get down again. Maybe it's not very high, and I can stop fretting.

up up and away...

My thought is, 'What's at the top?' Will I be met by bright freedom or is there someone waiting for me?

What a shot! I love the POV here, and it makes that latter look really tall! I'm always fascinated by these kinds of urban shots! That sky is so nicely blue and the earthy colors are really nice...I guess that's an ocher color? At any rate, I like it. The ladder is both forbidding and inviting and I love that...I'm curious as to what's up top! Great shot.

I also love that over-your-head POV and the way your postwork focuses attention on the ladder terminus...what IS up there? The question remains... What a great shot!

What I find interesting about this is, except for the sky, there are no familiar reference points. It would be easy to view this as a horizontal plane rather than a vertical one. Excellent image and optical illusion.

I like your style. You not just looking at eye level, you realy observe the suroundings. This is an excelent capture.

Excellent shot Tara. The POV and perspective is so good. AND... I see the threads and I wanted to join the pic below, but I couldnt come up with anything, even not a subject for the next LOL ! I liked your suggestion for the camping equipment ;-)

Cool POV and this could be part of the fire escape theme from months past and congratulations on “Things Are Looking Up” being chosen for the 30th Edition - Last Week in the Gallery 2010 Dana

Hmmm - well, that's actually a familiar view... I've been the guy at the bottom of the ladder for so long, I've gotten used to this view! An excellent perspective shot, actualy! The curvy concrete section gives it a bit of an Art Deco feel. Cool shot, Tara!

Love the comments above...and your picture for sure:P As I recall this ladder is in a firing pit for one of the big 12" guns that used to guard the entrance to Puget Sound. This ladder certainly would have seen a lot of use by young gun crewmen scampering up and down it between 1910 and the early 1940s. Today it sits quietly by without a purpose...and probably will for another 100 years or so.

They certainly are--just makes me want to climb up and see what's what!!

Nice shot Tara thats right put me on the bottom of the ladder but at least its a ladder and not a snake I would have to slide down.. ;-)
