Description

This is on Main Street, Skagway, Alaska. I’ll let the sign over the door and the red light in the peak, do all the talking. Hint: Some professions were grandfathered when Alaska was granted statehood. Taken July 1986 with a film camera and recently scanned. From what I can gather from this cool pic, this is a rather quaint house of ill repute. Not exactly like the elegant bordellos of the Old West, but any place in a storm, I always say.

Keep in mind that Alaska became the 49th state on January 3, 1959 and anybody that was grandfather at that time - was how many years old at that time - well you do the math for today's age. Dana
