Description

Inspiration can come from strange sources. This one came from the series, “Supernatural”-- Episode 15, Season 2. I’m a big fan of the show. Anyway, if you’re a fan you know that it’s about “tricksters”—demigods who like to play tricks—sometimes fatal tricks—on humans. Bobbie mentions Nancee – a west African trickster. I’ve always wanted to do something based on this myth, but could never get a handle on it. Those who’ve seen my series on West African mythology know that I like to give a human face to African deities. Most of them are represented by animals. Nancee is usually depicted as a crocodile. So, again, I’ve taken a little “artistic license” and here she is as I see her – a siren with mermaid or aquatic qualities—hence the ears. With her crocodilian nature, I see her haunting rivers and waterways by moonlight—offering her “help” to any mortal unwary enough to accept her gifts. Beware, because they are not usually what they seem. I had a lot of fun with this. Hope you like. And, as always, thanks for viewing, and commenting if you’ve time. They’re always appreciated.
