Description

Another shot I got at Bempton last weekend. This family of Gannets certainly fit the title. At Bempton there are a series of scallopped out cliff faces with points between. These give great views down the sheer cliff faces. So armed with a telephoto zoom there are many species to photograph. The main problem is there are usually a long way down. So a tripod and big zoom means none of it would be possible without my dear wife. She is the one who carries the large backpack camera bag for me. While I trundle along with 2 walking sticks. I couldn't walk this far without the sticks and several rests along the way. It is a team effort indeed. She is so happy to watch the seabirds especially the Puffins with her binoculars. This was our second visit and we have seen lots of Puffins but not near enough for good shots. This means we will have to go back next year and try again.

This is really wonderful...to see them in their natural state in a natural setting. I admire your desire to work so hard to get shots like this. :-)

A super capture and you and your wife make a great team to get these excellent photos. You wouldn't think it would be very comfortable nesting on such narrow ledges.
