Excellent macro of this scorpionfly! My book only shows the male, it has a more scorpion looking end to the tail. I wasn't sure that was it till I read Ursula's comment.

It's Darth Vader trying out a new look! Well...okay, it looks like a scorpion fly of some sort! You can always tell by that nose, which really isn't a nose, but it looks like one...or as some people might call it, a "schnoz." What colors and details. I love the patterns and the really nice sense of color. This is quite a fantastic shot; I especially like the contrast of the fly (with those nice wings) and the leaf. Really cool!
