A pair of characters from my first novel. It was a crappy novel, but they were pretty interesting characters. The incoherent and amateurish plot was not their fault. (That they insisted on being named Chaos and Alkaline was, but honestly, this was a minor counterpoint against the vast orchestral background of Suck.) Of the two, Chaos is the more deadly, but also the more predictable. If you get in her way, she'll kill you. If you don't, you're irrelevant. If you're not sure where on the spectrum you currently fit, check your pulse. Alkaline is better at flying than fighting. Of course, he's one of the best "jack" (mind-machine interface) pilots around, so this isn't saying much. Given that he's also addicted to the jack, routinely uses substance abuse to control the jack addiction, and tends to operate on a hair-trigger blend of charm and malice even when sober, people tend to be as wary of him as Chaos. ...I do miss these guys.
