Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Yosemite is a eroded valley from the glacial era. They left those rocks behind. I've been there twice, its impressive an beautyful. Great photo! RS

Isn't that what they call, or used to call, Alcatraz? One, two, three o'clock, four o'clock, rock, Five, six, seven o'clock, eight o'clock, rock, Nine, ten, eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, rock, We're gonna rock around the clock tonight.... Stunning clarity, light/dark contrast and texture in this super photo, M!

There is a place in Japan that has a HUGE rock too. I don't remember how heavy, but I know it was over 1 ton. Amazing........Aloha

A very placid view of this river! Love the solidity and strength of the rock amongst the gentle ever moving flow of the river. The clarity below the waters surface against the stone makes the perfect setting for this personal island

Is this one of those wandering rocks. They're scattered all over the place; there are even some not too far from the Chicago area. Glaciers moved them from their original locations and when the glaciers melted, the rocks just got...well...stranded. This looks like one of those. It's very dramatic and nicely stark. Great lighting; it looks like you took this on a nicely sunny, but not too hot day! That's always perfect. This is a great shot!

I love the contrast here! The grass is so green, the rivers like a mirror, the water so clear and the unmovable rock (with it's reflection). Dana
