Excellent shot Mike! Did you know this is actually most likely an Asian Lady Beetle rather than a true Ladybug? You can tell by the pattern on the head and the color of the legs, Ladybugs legs are black and Asian Lady Beetles legs aren't.. thanks to your awesome closeup you can see the color of the legs here. Oh and Asian Lady Beetles bite. Great shot :)

From that view, it almost looks like a toy. I watched a bazillion hatch on the outside wall of outhouse I had years ago when I first moved to the desert. Lol. They are all born a dull orange, then as they sit in the sun, they get their pattern & colors then fly away, fly away home! ")
