Description

A toad that my son has befriended. It's become quite tame, not to mention rotund (most likely due to all the food offerings) and hangs out in the back yard. It retreats to the garage when it gets too hot in the yard. I wonder where it plans on wintering over.... Thanks for looking and your comments.

If your son is anything like I was in terms of befriending toads, then you'll have your answer to the overwintering question when you hear toad noises in your son's bedroom and find a toad in a shoebox or something. As for this picture, it's quite marvelous. Toads are such handsome creatures, and yeah...this one is a bit rotund! Very nice details. The nightcrawler buffet looks quite tasty, if you're into food that hasn't stopped moving. This is marvelous! I love the textures and the worms have such well defined segments. Very nice indeed!

Okay ... I like toads and worms, but that is disgusting! And cool! My son is going to love this photo! I think if you have enough of a yard, it will just dig itself a nice hole and hibernate.
