Description

Hello, So this is one more image from my WIP of making a self portrait. It appears I really do suck at UV unwrapping and mapping. I do not get along with pins. Anyway, normally people do not show their failures, but I am not a regular one :D So if I will create new UV map layout then I suppose all the texture map will be redo, but if not, I am thinking to paint on top some details that were lost because of scaling photo references. i still need to model the eyes and will see how far I went with whole head. As always, modeled and rendered in Carrara. Obviously no post work except signature. Anyone know good tutorial about pins? i went through some in the hexagon forum since Carrara has almost the same UV mapping tools but it appears I am not smart to put the pins in the right places.

I don't know enough to comment other than that it seems like a really cool and useful skill to have and it seems you are well on your way to success. About sharing failures, One persons failure is another persons gold mine (or however that old saying works). Thanks for sharing, it opens up ideas about what can be done!
