@ Corrie...the pebbles are done with displacement in a Surface layer. They and the sand are one image but I did a mask of the sand, and made a colour and a grayscale of the pebbles which are actually 50% seashells, and used the GS for Displacement and the colour for colour all controlled by an image map in the fractal breakup on the coverage and breakup tab.

Verne would like this :) Very nice render, I'm trying to make some underwater images with T09, but it's not coming out as I'd like it to.
