Description

Setting at home Friday with photography on my mined, I decided to get in the car and take my self on a photography junket. I packed a quick bag, all my camera equipment my laptop and its accessories made sure everything was turned off and out the door, I went. Then back again just to check everything one more time. You know to make sure I didn’t forget to unplug this or that, the stove really was off and the lights were truly out, this was about 1 PM. That way when I got to the motel or where I was going which I had no idea at the time except the direction, east. I wouldn’t start wondering did I turn that off only to have that thought stuck in my mined the rest off the night, LOL. I wound up at Robbers Cave just before sundown in far southeast Oklahoma, had a short time to look things over and decide where I wanted to start shooting the next morning. Then back to town to find a place to stay for the night. I started the next morning about 7 AM there at Robbers Cave and wound up that evening on the Talimena Scenic Drive taking my last shot around 8:30 PM. I stopped at Wister Lake and a place that I found called Coon Creek Pond before making it to Talimena Drive. I hit the drive at about the center after checking out Cedar Lake no shot taken there the only real bust of the day. Then I headed east on the scenic drive taking shot along the way, I found it to be just as beautiful in the summer as it is in the fall decked out in its full array of fall colors. I made it to Mena Arkansas and had supper. Then back on the drive west bound to catch the sunset. After making it back to one of the scenic views I found earlier I waited for the sun to go down to take a few shots. The Talimena Drive goes across the Winding Stair Mountains and through the Ouachita National Forest, pronounced (Wosh-I-taw). This is one of the last shots of the day and I have to admit it I was worn out, but had a great day. Now it was time for the 3-hour drive back home. I’m still wondering why I didn’t spend the night somewhere and drive home the next morning rested, but all I come up with is I don’t know. Thanks for stopping by and for any comment you care to leave. Thanks for the favs. on my last post!

Beautiful sunset. Like the layers of faintly lit mountains and loved your narrative about your junket. I don't do that often enough myself. Last night I drove to the beach on Puget Sound near our home to specifically take sunset shots...you may see them posted soon...I took a series as the sun sunk lower and lower then disappeared all together. So now out of 93 shots, I have to pick about three for a collage:) Aren't digital cameras great...I never would have done that with film.

Gorgeous blended lighting and silhouetting in this late day shot! I would comment on your narration but barely had the time to read it.
