BIO
Because we value our privacy at home, I'm not going to say too much here about my personal life. Those that know me, already know probably too much about me. :) I am a programmer by trade and work for a company in Washington DC (even though I live in Florida). I've been programming almost as long (if not longer) than I've been doing art.
In 1988 or so, I started drawing on the C-64 which only had 64 colors (of which only 4 could be used in a certain place). There was a program called Koala Paint that I used to draw simple images with. I dreamed then of getting a 24 bit board I saw in the magazines, even though it was $2400 and I didn't even know what computer they were for. Then I got the Amiga and DCTV. Millions of colors! Yeah! Though it had troubles, it was still awesome to work with and I have found few paint programs that work as well as that one did, though Painter is pretty close. Then I finally got the elusive 24 bit computer (the IBM compatible) and I was on my way, though I still miss the old days of Deluxe Paint and DCTV.
I work in 2D and 3D with an emphasis on 2D. My work includes celebrity portraits, down home scenes, and fantasy. I also lean more toward family art so that I can show the kids, not because I have anything against the more adult works. My mediums include Poser, Bryce/Vue, Painter and Photoshop with a touch of LW (still learning on that one).
Thanks so much for viewing this page and I hope you will enjoy my work. On behalf of the whole family, have a great day...

Ohhh yes, this IS Jennifer Lopez, and soooo beautiful as in her real life!!! - Wonderful pose... very soft and romantic, and all in all: brilliant artwork :-)

Not to detract nor steal any thunder from the thousands of wonderful artists in these forums who work with 3D software to create gorgeous imagery - there's still so much more to be said for those like yourself who can open up a paint program and start with a blank electronic canvas and create such magnificent hand-painted art such as this. I would not know Jennifer Lopez if she walked up and slapped me in the face, but this image is no less an achievement of great skill and stunning beauty. That water and its reflection of this lady are so marvelously done, one would think you had photographed her in a private moment. Simply exquisite artistry Shadow.

This is amazing! I knew who it was the moment I saw the thumbnail without reading the title. Reminds me of a scene from one of her videos.

This is absolutely gorgeous! Such a beautiful and complimentary portrait of a beautiful lady. She should see it. I just love her hair. I am in awe of your ability , as was said above, to start from a blank canvas and create such an amazingly exceptional work of art.
jeweldragon
very beautiful shad you are so good with the paintings hope you keep them up always
DarkLimit
this is so cool, great skin tones.. I would add more randomness to her hair but it looks good either way.. Keep up the good work..

I'll just stand herre and stare awhile ok? WOW!!!!
HobbyHopper
Wow, beautiful image. You have good skill of photo retouch after the rendering. I know what you did for this image. This was great work. I have a very small suggestion. The pitch of wave is too fine. The wave should wrap the girl body as a concentric circle.
ShadowWind
Thanks Hobby for the suggestion about the wave. The water gave me a duck fit in this picture. Just to clarify though, the foliage is the only rendered part. The rest of the image is completely painted from a blank canvas in a separate area and then composited together...

OH WOW!!!!!! Dang, I am sooooo jealous! I can't paint by hand to save my soul. This is absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!!! You are so good at combining Bryce and PSP. They find such harmony under your guiding hand! You capture their faces so well too. There is NO difficulty in knowing EXACTLY who, or is that whom???, you've painted!! You can count me as one of your biggest fans!!!
allengraph

dreampaint

lundqvist
Beautiful! I love the reflections and especially the flesh tone shading/hilights. And don't get me started on the hair strands. Fantastic!
gallimel
amazing work... it's indeed fantastic as a paint, no matter how much it seems Jennifer or not.. I love the stance and the look in her eyes, that hand delicately and yet maliciously caressing her own arm... teh colours are just great.. it's more a cross between J.Lo and Beyonce Knowles to me... but mainly, it's a gorgeous vision :) Compliments :) Now if I wasn't meant to follow you carefully, being this in Mixed Medium, I would have lost it!!!! Luckely I didn't :) Keep up your and our dreams with yer art :)
kingkyle
once again shad... MOST AWESOME!! thats all i can say
KidAmnesiac
amazing again. Looks loads like her! u really should think about teaching these skills to us mere mortals here at rendo'! How many comments do ya think you'll get on this one!? :D Question - do u work from a photo or did u think up the whole scene (including her face position)?
ShadowWind
I use a photo to eyeball her general proportions and then using that as a reference, paint her based on lighting that would be in the scene (which I'm still practicing on though I think I get better with each one). The scene itself is usually created without a specific photo but usually as an inspiration from several related photos. This particular picture was inspired by one of her videos as ladynimue said. Hope this answers your question...
Sherlock
Very well done. My mom always said of my drawings: It doesn't matter if your style is the dame or different from others when you are detailing a likeness. If someone can recognize the model from your art, you have done a fine job.
vantagesam
Simply amazing!!! A beautiful painting of a beautiful woman. I tip my hat to you : )
ShadowWind
Thanks vantagesam and Sherlock...
