Description
This is my first proper attempt at rendering a complete scene in Poser. The Medieval Tavern is my own model as is the Tulwar Sword she's carrying.
The dress is Chicanery_For_V4 by Jan19 and is available in Renderosity's freestuff section.
I'm hoping that if I learn how to use Poser properly it'll improve the models I create. Any comments and critiques are most welcome :D

This whole scene works well. Fantastic lighting. Great eyes, choice of dress, and pose! She looks very intense!

It is a nice render but of course the real achievement is to have modeled every single thing in the room!

I like the tavern modeling. Interesting touches of detail on the sideboard and the trestle table. It's a very good composition. Only thing that strikes me as just a bit off is the scale of the Tulwar and scabbard. Everything else is scaled very well. Happy creating.

Really nice scene. Excellent modeling work! The lighting looks too bright for candle light IMO. Great character, textures and pose! Very nice work!

For a first, this isn't bad at all. OK, I don't like to critique as I am always afraid of hurting feelings.. I know how sensitive we artists can be (myself included), but I do respect yout work and would love to see you creating images at a level that you have the potential for. So please don't take this in the wrong light. I find the pose seems to be a bit too passive for the situation. To me she looks more like she is just holding the sword.. wanting to threaten, but not really ready to use it. She seems almost afraid of the sword. (I was a real scrapper in my youth.. and to me, the body language isn't working.) The dress is too stiff.. needs some folds. Does it have morphs? It does have lovely texture though. Most important in my eyes though, the lighting is too intense for candles.. the chairs and floor look like they have modern office lighting on them. I would take out whatever is causing that and look to light the scene as if it really is lit by candles (lots of point lights). Maybe bring in some light from outside too.. again, be careful with that as it still needs to portray evening.. so moonlight or firelight. (I say evening, because candles cost money and they wouldn't be lit in the daytime.) Could also infer light from a good sized fireplace. Perhaps place lighting somewhere in front of her as well so her face is lit. The modelling is wonderful. I love your textures, but I would probably want to see scratches where people's feet are always scuffing against things like the bar, furnishings and floor. Anyway, I hope this helps and am sure others might have some thoughts on it too. {{{hugs}}}

Amazing composition and modelling ! I agree with dragonmuse about the lighting looking too neat and the character's pose not suiting the situation implied in the title ... Fantastic work however and I wish having your skill ...

I love your modeling, it has such wonderful details and textures. I'm kind of with dragonmuse on the lighting, it does seem pretty bright and even, not really in keeping with the environment. I'm also a little confused with the wall where the picture is hanging, seems like it is jutting out at the top, but doesn't carry through to the bottom. I love the sword! Fantastic work!

For me it looks fantastic. Excellent composition with a lot of details.
